Habitat: Small depression in strongly-rolling, wooded terrain ... continuous Sphagnum and Polytrichum moss carpet on boggy sedge mat (poor fen) surrounded by 70 foot gravelly hills. Full sun. Associates include Dulichium arundinaceum, Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, Thelypteris palustris, Triadenum fraseri, Potentilla palustris, Drosera rotundifolia, Typha latifolia, stunted Larix laricina, Spiraea tomentosa. Chamaedaphne calyculata.
