Habitat: Strongly-rolling forested moraine ... in small, shallow vernal wetland in mature mesic hardwood forest. Beneath canoopy locally of Fraxinus nigra. large Populus tremuloides dominant in surrounding forest. Moist, shallow organic substrate. Occasioanal on decaying moss-covered tree boles decaying on the forest floor. No standing water here for past several weeks. Associated species include Carex tuckermanii, C. intumescens, C. gracillima, C. brunnescens, Botrychium multifidum, Pyrola elliptica, Onoclea sensibilis.
