Habitat: Broad, shallow basin in gently-rolling sandy terrain ... Forming dominant cover in ~30-acre poor sedge fen surrounding a ~20-acre patch of poor black spruce swamp. Full sun. Quaky saturated peat, often in shallow water. Associated species include Carex chordorrhiza, C. canescens, Chamedaphne calyculata, Betula glandulifera, Salix pedicellaris.
