Habitat: isolated stand of Thuja occidentalis in black ash swamp. Shallow peat over sand, below which is a thick band of gray clay. Pebbles & boulders present. Level with hummocks & depressions. Matteuccia struthiopteris, Athyrium angustum, Mitella nuda, Onoclea sensibilis, Rubus pubescens, Actaea rubra, Carex gracillima, Carex intumescens.
