Habitat:
Wet and wet-mesic brush-prairie near margin of rich fen. In sparsely vegetated, moose-trampled muddy spot in unpastured land. Soil apparently saline. Growing mainly around margin of muddy spot. Associated with Hordeum jubatum, Muhlenbergia richardsonis.
