Habitat: In a native meadow formerly pasture ... Associated with Rhus glabra, Viburnum lentago, Juniperus virginiana, Zanthoxylum americanum.
Description: Fruits red, L=0.95-1.15 cm, W=0.95-1.15 cm; nutlets 2-3. An open-grown specimen with two stems, each 3.4 m tall, and 3-4 cm diameter. Stamens about 10, anthers pink. No compound thorns, simple thorns numerous.
