Habitat: Gently-rolling sandy terrain ... in band of rich tamarack swamp on margin of poor black spruce swamp. Patchy canopy of Larix laricina. Dense, tall shrub layer dominated by Alnus incana, Betula glandulifera, Salix bebbiana, S. petiolaris, and Larix laricina. Saturated peat. Losoe clumps on mossy hummocks. Associated species include Carex disperma, C. canescens, C. leptalea, Caltha palustris, Thelypteris palustris, Rubus pubescens, Salix pyrifolia, Ribes hirtellum, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
