Habitat: In a brushy roadside habitat ... A small open-grown tree ... Associated with Rhus glabra, Celastrus scandens, Rhus radicans var. rydbergii.
Description: A small open-grown tree 4 meters tall and 7 cm dbh. Stamens ca 20, anther color not discernible. Compound thorns on main stem only. Fruit still green; L=1.3-1.7 cm, W=1.25-1.65 cm. Nutlets 3. Collected from the same stem as #25672 (flowering specimen). [annotator note: The fruit had ripened to golden yellow after collection]
