Frequent to abundant in alluvial forest on the east side of the river ... Interruped canopy of maturing Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, and Ulmus americana, with scattered Populus tremuoides. Patchy understory of Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, Ulmus americana, and Alnus incana. Dark organic silt. Associated species include Pilea fontana, Polygonum hydropiper, Onoclea sensibilis, Mentha arvensis, Scutellaria galericulata, Lycopus uniforus, Platanthera psycodes, Carex retrorsa.
