Associates include Carex sterilis, C. tetanica, C. prairea, C. lasiocarpa, Calamagrostis inexpansa, Muhlenbergia richardsonis, M. racemosa, Scirpus pungens, S. acutus, Andropogon gerardii, Triglochin maritima, T. palustris, Solidago riddellii, Lobelia kalmi, Parnassia glauca, P. palustris, Galium boreale, Lycopus americanus, Lysimachia quadriflora, Salix candida, Betula glandulifera.
