Habitat: Plants occur in an open grassy area near a forest dominated by Pinus banksiana. Associated with Arctostaphylos uva-ursi ssp. adenotricha, Melampyrum lineare, Chimaphila umbellata var. cisatlantica, Corylus americana, Epigaea repens var. glabrifolia.
