Habitat: In barrens savanna / sand prairie remnant in narrow band on south shore of lake, just east of outlet ditch. In partial shade of Quercus ellipsoidalis. Sandy soil. Associated species include Botrychium rugulosum, Poa pratensis, Andropogon gerardii, Fragaria virginiana, Rubus strigosus, and Pinus resinosa seedlings. Also, scattered plants in sandy soil of adjacent oak woodland beneath canopy of Quercus ellipsoidalis, Acer rubrurn, and Populus tremuloides.
