Habitat: On mid/upper slope of steep, 160ft, NE-facing slope; maple-basswood forest dominated by Acer saccharum & Tilia americana. In openings amongst Taxus canadensis which is abundant much of slope choking out other plants. Dark, rocky loam. Associated with Streptopus roseus var. longipes, Trillium grandiflorum, Actaea rubra, Solidago flexicaulis, Rubus pubescens, Taxus canadensis.
