Habitat: boreal-type calcareous seepage fen along narrow water tract feature through large tamarack swamp complex. Sunny, wet, springy, moss-covered substrate. Associated species include Carex lasiocarpa, C. sterilis, C. limosa, C. interior, Scirpus cespitosus, S. acutus, S. hudsonianus, Phragmites australis, Sarracenia purpurea, Parnassia glauca, Triglochin maritima, Menyanthes trifoliata, Pedicularis lanceolata, Utricularia intermedia, Betula glandulifera, Andromeda glaucophylla, Rhamnus alnifolia.
