Habitat: Gently rolling forested ... In small (1/4-acre), shallow, sedge meadow depression in jack pine woodland. Moist substrate; shallow organic layer over sand. Full sun to shaded by Pinus banksiana and Populus tremuloides. Associated species include Betula glandulifera, Spiraea alba, Corylus americana, Rubus cf. ferrofluvius, R. cf. superioris, R. strigosus, Carex buxbaumii, Calamagrostis canadensis, Stellaria longifolia, Iris versicolor, Stachys palustris, Scutellaria galericulata, Lycopus virginicus.
