Habitat: five acre boggy floating mat in small depression surrounded by wooded 20-40 foot hills. Strongly-rolling morainal terrain; In full sun. In moist carpet of Sphagnum moss; Associates include Salix petiolaris, S. pyrifolia, Larix laricina, Betula papyrifera, Eriophorum gracile,. E. angustifolium, Epilobium leptophyllum, Calla palustris, Triadenum fraseri, Carex lasiocarpa, C. lacustris, C. chordorrhiza, Scirpus cyperinus, Viola renifolia, petasites sagittatus.
