Habitat: In ravine along unnamed creek ... at base of 25-foot, south-facing slope. Canopy of Fraxinus nigra, with patches of Abies balsamea upslope. Understory of Fraxinus nigra, Prunus virginiana, Ulmus americana, and Quercus macrocarpa. Moist silty soil. Additional associates include Matteuccia struthiopteris, Mitella diphylla, Equisetum pratense, Uvularia grandiflora, Ranunculus recurvatus, Asarum canadense, Osmorhiza longistylis, Urtica dioica, Carex leptonervia, C. projecta, C. gracillima, C. arctata, C. radiata, C. peckii, C. deweyana, C. pedunculata, Luzula acuminata, Milium effusum, Festuca subverticillata.
