Habitat: small poor fen ("cranberry bog") in slight, three acre depression atop 60 foot wooded hill. In partial shade of Betula papyrifera, B. glandulifera, Thamnus frangula, and Acer rubrum. Spongy, continuous Sphagnum substrate. Associated species include Thelypteris palustris, Drosera rotundifolia, Sagittaria latifolia, Dulichium arundinaceum, Spiraea tomentosa.
