Habitat: In cedar swamp ... in clear, cold, shallow water, rooted in moss mats along old tree boles laying across groundwater spring head. Also in Sphagnum moss which forms hummocks around the spring. This subtle upwelling feeds into small inlet which empties into 15-acre boggy lake to the east. In partial shade of Thuja occidentalis and Alnus incana. Associated species include Caltha palustris, Glyceria striata.
