Habitat: Gently-rolling sandy outwash plain ... In sedge meadow filling small (3-acre), shallow basin. Full sun. Moist to wet, shallow organic soil over sand. Associated species include Rubus purbescens, R. uniformis, R. wheeleri. Surrounding upland is young woodland dominated by rather dense but short canopy of Pinus banksiana, originating from a wildfire in 1980.
