Steep north facing bluff; at top of slope. On eroded, tall dolomite cliffs (to 10 M tall) above old maple-basswood forest; in cliff crevices. Associated with Pellaea glabella, Aquilegia canadensis, Arabis lyrata, Campanula rotundifolia.
