Habitat: In floodplain forest dominated by Acer saccharinum, with occasional Fraxinus pennsylvanica and Ulmus americana. Silty soil with invasive earthworms. Associated species include Carex lupulina, C. arcta, C. projecta, C. retrorsa, C. stipata, C. intumescens, Elymus virginicus, Aster ontarionis, Boehmeria cylindrica, Myosotis laxa, Polygonum hydropiper, Onoclea sensibilis, Penthorum sedoides, Scutellaria lateriflora, Laportea canadensis.
