Habitat: Rich conifer swamp ... in a small portion of the swamp (<5 acres) that is influenced by groundwater seepage. Slight slope here. Patchy canopy of Larix laricina. Scattered Picea mariana in open understory. Trailing through continuous Sphagnum spp. moss carpet. Saturated peat. Associated species include Carex prairea, C. paupercula, Eriophorum viridicarinatum, Thelypteris palustris, Calopogon tuberosus, Cypripedium acaule, Corallorhiza trifida, Sarracenia purpurea, Triglochin maritima, Calla palustris, Caltha palustris, Menyanthes trifoliata.
