cedar swamp...Plants in loose patches on moss-covered high points of the microtopography. Patchy canopy of Thuja occidentalis. Associates: Coptis groenlandica, Aralia nudicaulis, Alnus incana, and Rubus pubescens. Soils: saturated peat.
