Habitat: Growing in rich fen - sedge subtype behind low beach ridge of Lake Superior. In saturated sedge peat >90cm deep, few stunted conifers and <5% forb cover. Associated with Carex aquatilus [sic], Scirpus cespitosus, Carex livida.
