Habitat: wet-mesic hardwood forest on loamy soil ... Leaf litter thin, worms seem present. Canopy of Fraxinus nigra and Tilia americana with occasional Ulmus americana and Ulmus thomasii. Ground layer associates include Osmunda cinnamomea, Arisaema triphyllum, Asarum canadense, Osmorhiza claytonii, Carex pedunculata, and Phryma leptostachya.
