Habitat: Tamarack-Alder Swamp dominated by mature Larix laricina, with understory of frequent Alnus incana. Moist to wet soil. Associates include Carex interior, C. lacustris, Thelypteris palustris, Rubus pubescens, Lycopus uniflorus, Maianthemum canadense, Galium asprellum, Mitella nuda, Aralia nudicaulis, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Dryopteris cristata, D. carthusiana, Trientalis borealis, Rubus strigosus, Parthenocissus inserta, Cornus stolonifera.
