Habitat: On sandbar. Moist sand 12 inches above river level. Full sun. Associated species include Eragrostis hypnoides, Cyperus bipartitus, C. odoratus, Eleocharis intermedia, Panicum philadelphicum, Veronica catenata, Rumex maritimus, Polygonum lapathifolium, Ranunculus pensylvanicus, Cardamine pensylvanica, and Salix x rubens seedlings.
