Habitat:
on margin of small bog forest ... Saturated peat. In partial shade of scattered Larix laricina & Picea mariana in ecotonal band between forest and the creek. In wet troughs between Sphagnum moss hummocks. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. utriculata, Iris versicolor, Myrica gale, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Andromeda glaucophylla, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
