Habitat: In small prairie remnant in unplowed area of pioneer cemetery (circa 1849). Gradual west-facing slope overlooking broad outwash plain along [river]. Full sun. Dark sandy soil. In disturbed area dominated by Bromus inermis and Poa pratensis. Additional associates include Artemisia ludoviciana, Geum triflorum, Carduus nutans, Asclepias syriaca, Potentilla recta, Prunus virginiana, Rhus glabra, Symphoricarpos occidentalis.
