along margin of small swamp dominted by Alnus incana. On low terrace just off the river. Wet sandy soil. Associates include Alnus incana, Cornus stolonifera, Salix eriocephala, Carex lacustris, C. stricta, Galium asprellum, Eupatorium maculatum.
