Habitat: Along the shore...in moist crevices of basalt and moist moss mats above wave level. On upper portion of and atop east-facing cliffs and outcrops rising over 50 feet above the lake. In full sun. Associates include Potentilla tridentata, Achillea millefolium, Solidago hispida, Campanula rotundifolia, Euphrasia hudsoniana, Maianthemum canadense, Heuchera richardsonii, Fragaria virginiana, Lilium philadlephicum, Carex audsta.
