Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, cliffs overlooking the Beaver River 1-1/2 miles west of Beaver Bay. T55N R8W N1/2 of SW1/4 of SE1/4 Sec. 10, SE1/4 of NW1/4 of SE1/4 Sec. 10

Habitat: ledges and talus of extensive north to northwest facing cliffs. Amongst moss and lichens in moist to dry and shaded to somewhat sunny situations. The mile-long diabase cliffs form the upper part of 450-foot ridge and range up to 150 feet tall. Talus slope cosists [sic] of large blocky rubble. Much of cliff is fairly heavily wooded.
Associated Species: Thuja occidentalis, Alnus viridis ssp. crispa, Betula cordifolia, Gymnocarpium jessoense ssp. parvulum, Woodsia ilvensis, W. glabella, Carex scirpoidea, C. eburnea, C. abdita, C. communis, C. deflexa, Saxifraga aizoon, S. virginiensis, Campanula rotundifolia
