Habitat: In thin soil ... Full sun 10-40 feet above the lake on exposed, much-fractured diabase which slopes gradually to south. Site previously part of a private garden. Associates include Veronica teucrium, Sedum telephioides, S. purpureum, Poa compressa, Physocarpos opulifolius, Juniperus horizontalis, Potentilla fruticosa, P. tridentata, Diervilla lonicera, Achillea millefolium, Campanula rotundifolia, Euphrasia hudsoniana.
