Habitat: Gently rolling drumlin terrain ... Rich conifer swamp ... in area of sparse canoopy. Partial shade of Larix laricina. Saturated peat, often in shallow water between mossy hummocks. Associated species include Calla palustris, Caltha palustris, Thelypteris palustris, Potentilla palustris, Impatiens capensis, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Rumex orbiculatus, Campanula aparinoides, Stellaria longifolia, Smilacina trifolia, Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex pseudocyperus, Betula glandulifera.
