Habitat: wet meadow in long, narrow drainage surrounded by oak woodland and granite outcrops. Full sun. Wet aoil. Associates include Carex stricta, C. lacustris, C. stipata, Bromus ciliatus, Calamagrostis canadensis, Aster firmus, A. umbellatus, A. puniceus, Polygonum amphibium, Eupatorium maculatum, E. perfoliatum, Solidago gigantea, Impatiens capensis, Lysimachia thrysiflora, Caltha palustris, Campanula aparinoides.
