Habitat: riverine marsh in bend of river. Deep, saturated, mucky, silty substrate exposed by low river level. Full sun. Associated species include Sparganium eurycarpum, Bidens cernua, Galium tinctorium, Polygonum amphibium var. emersum, Sagittaria latifolia, Lemna minor, Rorippa palustris, Mentha arvensis, Polygonum lapathifolium, Cicuta bulbifera, Rumex orbiculatus, Scirpus validus, Calamagrostis canadensis, Phalaris arundinacea.
