Habitat: Black ash swamp in small basin surrounded by 120 foot morainal hills; in seepage-fed area at base of steep, south-facing slope. sparse canopy of Fraxinus nigra, with occasional Acer rubrum. Additional associates include Ribes hirtellum, R. triste, Viburnum trilobum, Cornus alternifolia, C. stolonifera, Rubus pubescens, impatiens capesnsis [sic], Rudbeckia laciniata, Arisaema triphyllum, Osmunda cinnamomea.
