Habitat: In alluvial forest ... Site dominated by bur oak ... Associated with Prunus virginiana, Smilax hispida, Menispermum canadense, Ribes missouriense, Crataegus punctata.
Description: A small single-stemmed tree 4 m tall, and 6 cm dbh. Stamens ca 10, anthers white. No compound thorns, but simple thorns numerous. A couple of days past anthesis, all petals now fallen. Collected from same stem as #25965 (fruiting)
