Habitat: Gently-rolling terrain of the Nimrod Drumlin Plain ... in rich sedge fen in inter-drumlin wetland ... Saturated peat; drier than normal due to extended drought. Full sun to partial shade of Betula glandulifera, Salix petiolaris, S. pyrifolia, S. discolor, and young Larix laricina. Also in adjacent tamarack - willow swamp. Additional associates include Aster borealis, A. puniceus, Solidago gigantea, Triadenum fraseri, Asclepias incarnata, Cicuta bulbifera, Gentiana rubricaulis, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Caarex interior, Agrostis scabra, Salix pedicellaris, Ribes hirtellum.
