Habitat: Rocky shoreline ... On basalt bedrock, scattered at the top of small north-facing cliff, about 10 to 15 feet above lake level ... in sparsely vegetated rocky shoreline community with Campanula rotundifolia and Sagina nodosa nearby. On orange crustose lichen (probably Xanthoria elegans) is common on the basalt.
