Habitat:
In low area surrounded by rolling hills; tamarack swamp dominated by Larix laricina. On mossy hummocks around tree bases. Associates include Ribes hirtellum, Rhamnus alnifolia, Viburnum trilobum, Cornus stolonifera, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Cypripedium reginae, Platanthera hyperborea, Thelypteris palustris, Rubus pubescens, Impatiens capensis, Caltha palustris, Carex disperma.
