Habitat: in broad band of sedge meadow / fen on northeast shore ... in shallow, saturated peat over gray marly muck. Full sun. Associated species include Carex lasiocarpa, C. prairea, C. stricta, C. buxbaumii, Eriophorum angustifolium, Scirpus acutus, Calamagrostis stricta, Campanula aparinoides, Thelypteris palustris, Asclepias incarnata Cirsium muticum, Solidago gigantea, Salix discolor, S. petiolaris, S. candida, Ribes hirtellum.
