Habitat:
seepage meadow on upper portion of gradual to rather steep, 40-foot high slope along east side of the river...~1/2-acre perched meadow which is maintained by cold, upwelling groundwater. Mostly in full sun, some in partial shade of Larix laricina and Picea mariana from adjacent conifer swamp. Deep, saturated, marly muck; surface covered with layer of orange-colored iron-oxide. Associated species include Carex prairea, Eleocharis palustris, Scirpus cespitosus, Calamagrostis canadensis, Poa palustris, Stellaria borealis, Caltha palustris, Triglochin maritima, Galium labradoricum, Epilobium leptophyllum.
