Habitat:
on sandbar exposed by low water levels (extended drought). Substrate is coarse sand, and shallow silt over sand. Full sun. Associated species include Eragrostis hypnoides, Panicum capillare, Cyperus squarrosus, Eleocharis intermedia, Mimulus ringens, Erysimum cheiranthoides, Myosoton aquaticum, Polygonum lapathifolium, and seedlings of Salix x rubens.
