Habitat: Rugged forested moraine ... along the shore of a shallow ~20-acre lake ... on small vegetation mats in central portion of the lake. Mostly in full sun (to partial shade of trees at the ege of the adjacent hardwood forest). In shallow water with mucky to sandy bottom, and in saturated peat on floating mats. Associated species include Carex lacustris, Scirpus cyperinus, Glyceria canadensis, Equisetum fluviatile, Typha latifolia, Sagittaria latifolia, Nymphaea tuberosa, Nuphar variegata, Brasenia schreberi, Utricularia vulgaris.
