Habitat: on large granite outcrop rising 40ft. above surrounding landscape. In dry to moist bedrock cracks and shallow, mossy depressions. Full sun. Associates include Woodsia ilvensis, Allium stellatum, Cerastium arvense, Talinum parviflorum, Hedyotis longifolia, Polygonum convolvulus, Selaginella rupestris, Opuntia fragilis, Portulaca oleracea, Andropogon gerardii, Bouteloua gracilis.
