Habitat: in small wet prairie along margin of narrow wet meadow drainage through oak & aspen woodland. Full sun. Moist organic loam. Associates include Carex haydenii, Spartina pectinata, Panicum leibergii, Platanthera flava, Cicuta maculata, Pedicularis canadensis, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Fragaria virginiana, Zizia aurea, Rudbeckia hirta, Galium boreale, Solidago canadensis.
