Habitat:
floodplain forest dominated by mature Acer saccharinum. Alluvial sandy-silt. On dry ground and in up to 10cm deep water from recent heavy rains. Associates include Carex muskingumensis, C. typhina, C. grayi, Leersia oryzoides, Vitis riparia, Ulmus americana, Bidens.
