Habitat: Tamarack Swamp; Canopy rather dense stand of older Larix laricina with inclusions of Fraxinus nigra. Om mossy hummocks. Associates include Rubus pubescens, Caltha palustris, Viburnum trilobum, Lonicera caerulea, Galium triflorum, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Mitella nuda.
